A lot of folks, especially as they grow older, make the comment "I don't want any new friends"! Believe me at 58 years old I understand where they are coming from but I do not agree with them. My whole life has centered around the people business and I have/do know a multitude of people. You know what? I still enjoy making new friends and I just made two new ones this week that I think I will share time with for years to come. Tom and Brenda Cardin!! Tom Is an attorney from Cassville, Mo and Brenda is a real estate agent for Judy Huntsman that owns Coldwell BankerVanguard in Springfield, Mo. Judy had a sales contest at her company and one of the prizes you could choose was a guided fishing trip including lodging and meals with your truly.... Linger's Guide Service here in Norfork Arkansas. Brenda being the wonderful salesperson that she is was the winner of the contest and chose the fishing trip as a birthday present to Tom. They came in Thursday afternoon, settled in and we headed to the river for a couple hours of trout fishing. In the beginning I was a little concerned as Tom and Brenda were both struggling to learn how to cast a spinning rod far enough to catch any fish. Finally after some frustrating moments for all of us it all started to come together. They caught fish, laughed, we took pictures and began sharing stories about past present and future. What a couple of days we had and what an enjoyable time I had meeting these folks and sharing their good time. The next day we fished most of the day, had a two hour shore lunch, ate our catch and headed back to the house for an enjoyable evening. They were both very happy because they caught more fish that day than any other day in their life! It was only a short visit in the scheme of things but an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed and hope they return with friends and family. THANKS TOM & BRENDA FOR MAKING MY FEW DAYS WITH YOU SO ENJOYABLE!! It is people like them that makes my guide business so rewarding! It is also folks like them that makes me want to meet new people and perhaps make NEW FRIENDS!!!!

Jim, good article about sharing time on the river with new friends! Keep the stories rolling in your blog. Interesting!
