I find meeting people who I have never met before very interesting as well as challenging. I t is always interesting to make a new acquaintance but when you have to spend a day or two with this new individual it can become a challenge. This is not meant to be a negative at all, much to the contrary. I work hard to make every persons trip fun and memorable. I want them to go home talking about having a good time and experienceing the White River at it's best. Helping them catch fish, trying to pass on what little tid bits of information I have to help them improve their catch as well as making them laugh once in awhile is my primary goal when meeting any new client. This is what makes their trip a success and hopefully a repeat customer. I just had the pleasure of spending the last two days with a gentleman from Springfield named Dr. Fritz Johnson. Fritz is a retired heart surgeon who has a love and desire to catch fish and enjoy the elements of the Ozarks. When we met at the ramp on Monday we visited about what he would like to do for the next couple of days and agreed on a plan. We would spin fish on Monday and fly fish on Tuesday. Fritz had not fly fished in 20 years but had the desire to catch the wiley rainbow on a fly rod. WHAT A FUN TWO DAYS! Fritz, quite the gentleman and great conversationalist, kept me on the hunt for fish and eager to make his trip a memorable one. Monday was a little slow by standards but we caught plenty of fish for shore lunch and several extras. A nice evening at my home looking off the deck over the White River gets you ready for the next day. Tuesday brought more hydro water and put the fish where they needed to be. We went to the fly rods and when the smoke cleared had boated 34 fish, all rainbows. I was especially happy for Fritz as he had not had a fly rod in his hands in 20 years and in all honesty he did just fine. Spending time with a person you have never met before can be so rewarding if you both share common goals, interests and love for the outdoors. I know my time spent with Dr. Fritz Johnson was memorable for me. I hope his time spent with me was equally as interesting and memorable. Come back again Dr. Johnson, I will be looking forward to serving you!!!

Jim, I really enjoyed the story. It certainly is straight from the heart and the sincere desire to listen to your clients and their wishes is quite evident. Let me go find my fly rod!
